Building Resilience in High-Stress Work Environments
This evidence-informed, trauma- and violence-aware training program is designed to support the psychological health and wellbeing of individuals working in roles where they may regularly encounter stressful or emotionally challenging situations.
Course Goal
The goal of this course is to strengthen the psychological resilience of frontline professionals and help protect their wellbeing while working in demanding environments. Participants gain practical knowledge and tools to better understand stress, respond effectively to challenging situations, and support both themselves and their colleagues.
Participants will learn how to:
- Prepare for and respond proactively to different stages of stress.
- Recognize signs of stress or distress in themselves, co-workers, and the individuals they serve.
- Practice effective communication strategies through realistic case scenarios involving colleagues who may be struggling and clients, members, or citizens experiencing distress.
- Identify and apply personal strategies that support resilience, wellbeing, and recovery after difficult situations.
Through discussion, practical exercises, and real-life examples, this course equips participants with tools they can immediately apply to maintain personal wellbeing and foster a more supportive workplace.
